The last minute addition of another team member on this project has thrown things completely up in the air.

theburns1, your car looks absolutely perfect for the job, but, the goalposts are moving so fast right now that I'm not even sure we will have a car on the stand.

I will be keeping all the generous offers in mind. Please, if you can, stay on standby, I have no idea what is going to happen :banghead:

*PANIC* *PANIC* *PANIC*

The car that the OC events team had arranged for us to work on a the show on the 28th/29th MARCH... HAS PULLED OUT!!!!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So I now desperately need a car that we can take to the show and take to bits! If you have a project car that you are still planning to do work on please contact me!!!!

I have Ali's MK1 Dakar, I've put a new hood on, fixed the brakes and window, other that that it is untouched. I am sure there are plenty of simple jobs that can be done and it is standard.

*UPDATE*

I have a car!!

Clare has generously offered us her winter hack. The big plus with this is that it's properly rusty. So we can show the show-goers some of the rust challenges.

Thank you so much for stepping up with offers guys. Really shows how strong the P5 spirit is. Thank you.

Now what we need..... is parts.

Anyone got a set of coilovers hanging about that we could borrow? One plan is to fit them at the show and then remove them and return them after the show.

Anyone breaking a car at the moment? I've got this idea to take a rear subframe. With the Diff and suspension and wheels on it. Would make an interesting display piece for the stand and we can wheel it about quite easily.

Anyone got a set of window lift mechs? One job we could do on the day is swap these on Clares car. We'll pay you for the parts of course. It's a good job to do because it happens to a lot of us.

Trying to think of other jobs we can do in the NEC that are of interest and quite easy. Change brake pads maybe? That's quite easy.

I think we have a replacement soft top sourced so we can swap that over.

Any suggestions for jobs you would like to see guys?

Sorry mate  Clares just pipped you because we can chop the sills off it before the show and then show it with the sills 'open' then Dan will weld it up when he gets the car back. I didnlt want to put you through all that and I knew Clare would forgive me

Might need some helpers on the day/s if you are up for it?

Hood-on-frame swap is an easy one, but looks complicated (once you remove the seats and the trim etc).

Fitting a roll-bar?

Owners Club Members may get a discount code. But it's a (comparatively) cheap show anyway so I'm not 100% sure about that yet.

*THE NEXT PROBLEM*

Ok..... Been let down by the engine man. Had an engine on a stand sorted. But now I got nothing.

I need favours please guys!!

I have a replacement engine sorted. But I need A FOLDING ENGINE CRANE and AN ENGINE STAND.

I need them to be at Dan's unit (JDM Guys) for Friday 27th so we can take them to the show that morning and use them to load the engine into the van and out again at the NEC.

I know it's a big ask and lastminute.com but can anyone help us please?

Don't know if you are still after the rear subframe bits but this is what I've got for you .

It will dismantle fairly easy as I've only put the bolts back in loosely but I've no longer got any way of getting it to you . :banghead:

Cerbs, no joy. Old one is still there but needs seals which are going to be replaced.
Don't know if it will be done in time for the show.
