Curborough Under Threat

Postby raydar27 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 10:10 pm

For anybody that has been, that wants to go, that wants to go again please read this:

** CURBOROUGH UNDER THREAT **

Curborough Sprint Course is the premier and most used sprint course in the country and an essential part of the UK Motorsport scene as an entry level venue for the sport.

The venue is currently under threat from development of the area into a new community containing up to 5000 dwellings and all associated amenities.
We urge you to visit the Lichfield District Council website and make a comment on the application stating the local and national importance of the venue and the detrimental effect the loss of the venue would have on the sport.
Do it now- you can make a difference it's not yet a done deal!

This must be done before 29th April.

Then click on the link to “Comment on this planning application”.
There are also links to read the full documents relating to the application.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you send the wall across the field once you've hit it.

Did anyone else get a letter from Lichfield council about this?

I can't remember the specifics but it essentially said that the plans had been shelved, so a win for the track day users!

Result!! Curborough is the circuit we used to use for the Vindicator Owners club track days, and its where I had my first ever drive in a vindicator 8) OK, so it was someone elses car and I only had 2 laps, but I've still got good memories from there and would like to get there one day with a car of my own to drive!!
