Bunga-Bunga/Port Froid (it really is just one continuous long corner) screams 'epic understeer'. Last year my tyres were gripping cleanly through the whole section and it was slightly boring, at much higher speeds, making the braking into Usher a lot more difficult. This year the tyres lost grip mid way through, leading to much sliding and lower braking speeds.

Bishops is an odd one. I got it dead-on last year - so much so that I rolled flat over the top of the apex cone. This year I couldn't find the turn-in point. The concrete is useful, but there's a couple of nasty pot-holes to avoid.

Twickers used to work the same way too. There's a small patch of concrete underneath the new kerbing. It was rough, but widened the track enough to make that corner easier.

Lancaster has been made more difficult too. Last year there were no blue cones on the left, and just a single cone on the right (which typically got knocked away after 10 minutes). Generally people seemed to cut the corner (behind where the blue cones are) and it made for a much straighter line. Between that, and the change of tyres, I was getting about 5mph less at the end of the straight.

I'm glad you had fun :wavey:

I'd gotten Bunga Bunga figured out and the new found exit speed into the first right hand of Port Froid seemed overly ambitious

Somewhere in the second session I took a brave pill into Bishops and realised I could get through it a lot quicker. But it did involve the right hand tyres kicking up some rocks on the exit

I really really want to go back and try it on tyres that aren't worn out and in the dry

I think my bad driving caused the spin I must get some more instruction on track driving.

I want to go back, in fact I want to go back to any track to be honest. But i. The dry.

Instruction is always good. You learn so much more quickly that way.

I remember you sliding a little bit in the wiggler - but that's what it's there for :) I think you went back on the throttle a little early. It's not enough to have the steering straight, you need to have the back of the car roll level. Your car rolled a lot more than I was expecting through there. I'm not at all sure if was tyres, alignment or steering that contributed to it the most. I'd suggest looking at the first two, as they're the most common culprits, and the easiest to change.

I wouldn't worry about the wet. That was mildly damp compared to 2 years ago, going around on T1Rs in standing water. That was wet :) You'll learn to drive cleanly in the wet - it's almost the only thing you can do.

On my first full trackday I went too fast into a left-hander (looked like a 90-left, but tightened), turned in but couldn't make the turn, so hit the brakes. Ended up the wrong way around on some green run-off. Ran wide a couple of times on other corners. All great learning experiences.

I intend on investing on some new tyres soon I have spun the tyres a number of times I never spun the monza tyres I had on before. Do you think geting my five lowered would improve things? I am attempting to buy a supercharger at the moment so everything elce is on hold at the moment.

I think his BGW and #74 roundels ought to be easier to spot than the license plate :)

Just a thought - have you checked your rear ARBs (the mount points) and drop-links recently?

Chaps, you can spin any car, regardless of tyres and suspension.
This particular spin was caused by holding a too tight line for the speed and not reacting to the resultant oversteer that came with it. More practice, that is all.
