Car Control Day, Friday 1st April

Postby NickD » Sat Mar 26, 2011 3:11 pm

Our famous, just look at YouTube, car control days return to Finmere on the fisrt of April. It's no joke, but they do make you giggle, lots!

If you have been slipping and sliding and worried during the winter months, this is for you. Lear to control oversteer and skids, understand understeer and have a right good laugh in the process.

We have very cheap tyre support on the day from Mint Tyres, rent rims and part worn tyres to slide about of for £20 and they will even put them on your car for you and swap them back at the end of the day. Tea, coffee, chocy biccies and lots of smiles and definately the art of staying out of ditches.

Brilliant day. Love that video. Especially 2:27 & 3:34 :)

If you haven't been on one of these, then you're probably having a lot less fun in your car than you realise.

Talk to me about tyres.
I will do you a new set to 195 50 15 T1R for £220 fitted at the monthly meet.

Mint tyres will rent you a set of rear rims with skid tyres on for £20 and they will put them on and take them off your car for you.

The control days are a brilliant way to finish of what's left of your tyres :)

Just out of interest, what's the current price on a set of the 595s?

Arrrrrghhh FFS, got a day of leave to use up, however, as apparently I will be launching the new Business and Admin structure for our organisation on April Fools' Day (no one saw the irony of announcing lots of pay cuts and redundancies on April the 1st) I don't imagine I'll be wriggling out of it to trash the toy :(

Let me check the old girl later for sizes - although, you being you are no doubt right about size but I'll check at the station later. Also the wheels will be on the car (I've just realised how obvious that sounds), is that going to be OK?

I'll trade you. I've got the project meeting from hell on Friday. Anything, including disembowelling myself(*) is better than that.

* waits for someone to post/link-to a step-by-step guide with photos.

Oh dear, unfortunately you have the expensive size.

OK the original fitment was Bridgestone RE30, which I thought were quite good. These are replaced with RE300 A set of them fitted is £415.

Goodyear GDS3 are £13 more at £428
The Pirelli PZero Nero, which I have no experience of are £368.50
THe Hankook V12 that Ma5da racing use is the same cost
Then there is a bunch of cheap shitty tyres, that I really don't recommend that would be £280
And the anomally is that Federal RS-R in this size are £470

Ahrr, well, with the magic of the telephone, and when Toyo actually get to the office, T1R in that size would be £359 Fitted.

Oh, and I can get them tomorrow. 8)
