An unusual set of circumstances led to me getting a lift to the monthly with bobjacqs last night. I'm glad i did because it turns out that he may possibly be in a position to grease a few wheels for me, work wise.

Anyway, it led to me thinking about the fact that there is such an untapped well of potential assistance within the wider P5 community that unless you specifically ask the question, noone would know existed.

To that end, i propose that all members that are happy to do so should put a quick precis of what they do, for what company/organisation. After all you never know who is out there that you may be able to assist or vice versa.

Let's consider it our own version of the masons :D :funny handshake:

I'll start:

Education Recruitment company owner, if you are a teacher looking for work or know someone who is, i can probably help, or if you require a CRB check for any reason etc. I am also knowledgeable about horses (years of top level competition experience)

Your turn

Greg

I'm a self-employed software/database/web developer, working with Microsoft technologies. I mostly contract out (for example, at the moment I'm working with NEXT Plc on a number of web-based projects). I also do the odd bit of freelance - I led the technical design and did all of the development of this site, for example.

I am an (out of work!) Architectural Technician by trade. Many years spent working for major house builders and also private architectural practices dealing with anything from small extensions to full houses.

This is mainly using various incarnations of AutoCAD, although recently I have become quite conversant in Revit, doing 3D/4D BIM modeling and photorealistic rendering.

Some examples....

You should go to America where you will be able to work in a resturant! Every waitress I have eve spoken to in America studied in Engerland, in Manchestershire and has a degree in microbiology.

Haha well I don't have a degree in Microbiology, I do have a degree in Genetics though, and if I were going to America, I damn sure wouldn't want to be a waitress. I'm not a people person

I also paint (only animals though, anything else bores me to tears) and I'm quite handy with fibreglass and filler too

I'm a web designer/developer/graphic designer... currently working at a secondary school, been in the industry for about 4 years now. Interesting but lots of politics being within a school, especially when you just want to get on with stuff

I did the HMI for the touch screen in the XF & XKs, then tweaked it so it would work standalone on the website. Have you got a URL for it, or is it not live yet?
