Loving that! Is that the M03 chassis? The fwd one?

I think I best get to buying some plastic cones to lay out a track with!

I've ordered my MX5 body, not sure what I'll end up putting it on but at least its on the way to me... fingers crossed one of the M 06 auctions ending over the next few days will go my way and I'll be sorted!

Think I've got some small cones somewhere...

That's the one ! So it will be the battle of rwd vs fwd
It has an uprated motor but judging from your video it's still nowhere near as powerfull as yours
Many moons ago I used to race r/c buggies all over the county ( in fact I'm still trying to dig out my old 4wd buggy from the loft ) so it will be fun to find out how rusty I've got :D

Thats cool, glad I posted it now! Mine wasn't much nicer than that (although I had cleaned it!) but I got £70 for it!

I think if I win the pile of cars / bits I'll maybe sell one or two of them to pay for radio gear etc... one is an FWD M03 chassis so that can go, its amazing how little money they seem to go for though! Not sure whether to start my own build thread, or whether we should start up an official RC thread?

Top work thank you :) It doesn't look complete but I have the parts it is missing!

I keep looking at the prices of new M06R's

I have that eBay bundle on watch. I'll let you win it then make you an offer on some of the bits ;)

The amount of cars coming out of storage I'm tempted to make a whole new sub forum for R/C builds and car park meet ups in the summer ;) What do you recon guys?

A separate r/c section is a great idea :thumb: You could even make it an other hobbies / interests section .

Quick question , what's the overall length of your chassis with the body on ?

Had the first chance today to open the taps on the 9 turn motor. At the Cov meet.

As I hoped the motor has far far too much power for this chassis :) You have to be incredibly patient on the throttle or you are sideways before you can blink. As many sore ankles can attest to. Sorry guys!

Building the speed gradually I managed a few full throttle passes. It's pretty damn quick :) Need to get an iPhone mount made and check the speed by GPS.

The slight downside was the one muddy puddle that I seemed magnetically attracted to. So tonight a full strip down and clean was in order.

Front suspension off and chassis split.

Gearbox opened for inspection. All looks well! No broken teeth yet.

The plastics are having a nice hot bath ready for rebuild tomorrow.

I'm very pleased with it so far. Can't wait to get a few out at once for a mess about!

Being the saddo that I am I checked the CCTV logs as usual today. The postman usually drags himself to our house around mid-day. Sure enough there was a motion activated capture of the postman going to the door and then wandering around behind the Jaaaaaag. The lovely chap had a parcel that was too big for my slot. So he balanced it on the rear bumper of the Jaaaaaaag.

Then it started to rain.............

Image

That's was my lunchbreak sorted then. Looked like I was heading home for my mid-day noms!

Image

Genuine Chinese stampage! rar!

Image

3Racing Oil filled coilovers. To replace the friction damped units that come as standard. Tamiya oil filled shocks can be found for £50 to £60. These took a fortnight to arrive from China but they cost £15

ChaChing!

Image

The instructions are a little less than vague. They will be going back on as part of the current clean and rebuild.

I've decided I really want a 1/10 trolley jack and some 1/10 axle stands............ Or a 1/10 two post lift!!! I don't think digging a 1/10 inspection pit will be very useful.........

TL;DR version - you're going to fit cheap Chinese EBay coilovers on the r/c mk1...
