Hey guys,

Quick question for you all, im looking at a silver mk2.5 2004 thats priced at £4999, its done 34785 Miles and as far as i can tell its in pretty good condition ALTHOUGH it has had a roof repair done to it (little cut about 2" long") that is noticeable but nothing too bad and i'd be looking at getting a new mohair soft top instead of vinyl anyway

So for £4999, what do you guys reckon?

Edit:

Nicked some pictures of it:

i think for 5k with a rip in the roof it maybe a tad over priced. id aim for 4.5K but im sure you could get an RS mk2 or sport for that money

Should have mentioned that this is from a mazda dealership aswell (as im looking to Px my current car), the little rip has been repaired but there is a little discolouration around the repair which you can kinda notice in the second picture

Do you reckon there would be much to haggle with? originally this was listed for 5999 but they listed as a 1.8 when its actually a 1.6 which is why they dropped it to 4999

im getting the standard service they do on the car with a years warrenty but for the roof they are quoting 800odd for just the standard one where i could go to Mark(think thats the right name) and get a mohair one for nearly half that!

Then i could always stick the old roof on ebay or something and get a little bit back from it.

£500 over what you're reckoning isnt too bad i think..as i suppose i am getting the years warrenty and all that from a dealership which is slight more than what i'd get from private...

Just depends if the car will last till sat.. i work 9 till 6 and cant get anywhere near the garage till 7pm after work which is when it closes Sad Plus ive gotta wait till wed/thurs for my car to come back from servicing and mot Sad

Seems like this dealership is being annoying and don't like to get back in touch with info even though ive got the money in my hand which they know...

This roof repair is a bodge job which is why "apparently" they reduced the price to 4999 instead of 5999...although they did advertise it everywhere as a 1.8 to begin with. So they are saying the car is "as is" with the roof and are not budging...

Also the boot had all condensation in which they are "apparently" sorting out

we've told them that we are interested in the car, we'd be happy to put a deposit down but we can't Px my car till sat because im working 9till6 and dont get home till around 7..we just want the boot sorted and the roof patched...they said they'll get back in touch to let us know when its done...but i doubt they will

Any places you might be able to recommend that do a decent Px and the MX5's arent too expensive? my budget will go up to a stretch of £6500 but thats include a Px on my current car at about £3500

Edit: and ideally looking for not high mileage depending on the price...

Right...with regards to the aforementioned car......i can't get the link to work that the sellor has sent to me, i've mailed her and asked for a pic so watch this space. When i saw the car it looked great, but it was in the dark, and i was slightly inebriated! Very Happy so if it's no good i really won't be offended if you say it's actually pants! LOL
