Seems like a bargain. Couple of questions:

Do I need a helmet?
I've never drifted before, will I just be in the way of all the good drivers?
Will my 1.6 have enough power to "light em up"?

Cheers

You will need a helmet, we can hire you one for £10.

Will you be int he way of good divers, no, and everyone has to practice.

Pump your tyres up and 1.6 is plenty enough power.

What size? You could have my old Meshindo wheels for £40... they are running 205/55/15 so maybe not ideal but a whole lotta tread!!

Russell.

The one thing I don't need any more of is wheels :)

Just need a couple of spare 195/50/15 to go on the yellow rims.

OTOH, you should post some pics anyway.

Tyres? I've got 2 old tyres with plenty of tread on them, and 4 shiny bright wheels with nowt on. So 2 more tyres should give me enough to start the day.

Is it likely that I'll get through more than that? I'm assuming that I'll spend most of the day spinning anyway.

realistically, a n/a mx5 won't be too hard on tyres as you won't be linking half the track up like the mega power barges, you will be doing skids rather than cerazydoriftotougemangamadness so should be ok with one set of tyres (you need fresh treads though because you will still need to drive home - and it is always sensible to have spares handy in case you rip a tyre or something)
If you know anyone looking for a bit of unqualified teaching work in the west mids, send them to http://www.firstforeducation.co.uk/cover-supervisors-2/

This was on today, and it was awesome. If Nick runs another one, then I recommend you go to it.

There are some pictures here.

Including one of Alex G:

I hadn't done any drifting before, but really enjoyed it. Had a quick pep talk from Al Clark a quick sighting lap and then loose to mess around with the car. Also had some pointers from Nick and some encouragement from Alex. I definitely improved as the day went on, and started to understand what it's about.
