I actually did that to test my boot light microswitch worked..... :oops:

What was the result? There's an on/off switch for the boot light. If you leave it switched off, does it go out when the boot is closed?

If you leave it switched off it never comes on.

If you leave it switched on, it turns off when you shut the boot.

For future reference I have one and only live in wellesbourne a completly original 1990 uk mx5 in mint condition only just read post,may was spotted driving driving an old ford transit round the local villages.
